LAVH tomorrow - very nervous

Carol, Good Luck with your surgery how ever they end up doing it. I had the abdominal operation. It all went well except the medicine when I woke up from the surgery. I can't take meds well. Only motrin works the best for me. I ended up taking HRT. I have no ovaries so I needed estrogen, I am 49 now and had surgery 3 years ago. I feel strong and no worries at the moment. Good Luck again, Linda

I think it is pretty standard to say "We're planning to do an LAVH, but if there are problems, then we'll do the belly cut". They do this because if they don't . . . and they run into problems, then they have to close you up, let you heal, then attempt the surgery another way on another date.

Good luck tomorrow!

You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Nikki, I didn't mean to ignore your question. I am planning on keeping my ovaries. My doctor says she thinks it's best at my age. Unless she sees some reason they shouldn't stay she'll leave them.

Libralin, I understand about meds. I am so sensitive to them. If there are side effects, I'll have them and some that are very rare too. I can't take ibuprofen because of a previous stomach ulcer caused by them. I wish I could because they work best for me too.

Peaceful Storm, I was told I'd have the belly button incision (I hope they don't screw up my piercing) and then i'd have two more small incisions on either side. I'm feeling better about the "not knowing" now. I know she'll do what's best for me.

Thanks so much for the luck, good vibes and especially just being here to listen!

Okay, I'm off to bed now. Got a big day tomorrow!

nite, nite
