TAH: TAH/BSO with Exploratory Laparotomy

Good morning, Sisters~to~be!

I just found out that my TAH/BSO will also include an Exploratory Laparotomy (NOT to be confused with Laporoscopy). Have any of you had the LAP done, recently? I have had many abdominal surgeries, including an open bowel resection that left me with a scar: Sternum to the pubic area: 45+ staples long. They will be re-opening the scar from under my navel to the pubic area (Vertically). I am really nervous about the recovery and pain. I have my pre-op visit with my next Thursday and will, of course discuss, but I was hoping to get some tips and advice from my Sisters, here.

I've never had a lap done. In fact, my TVH is the only surgery I've ever had. I hope your surgery and lap go smoothly and you don't have a lot of pain. Hang in there and best wishes!
