Medicines not getting into my system

Hi!

Bare with me, I hope I can ask this in a way that isn't complicated LOL

I am inching to the 3 weeks post op mark. I haven't need any pain meds in awhile. I normally take my anxiety medicine (klonopin) and my allergy medicine (benadryl). I have really bad allergies so I take benadryl (25mg) 4x a day. I have noticed in the last couple of days my allergies were not controlled. I have been sneezing, swelling up in the face, etc. I would take more benadryl. It occurred to me today that I don't think the benadryl is getting into my system, even though I'm taking the medicine. I don't know if it's just not dissolving, what is happening. Since I seriously can't be without, I took some liquid benadryl and I think that did work.

My anxiety has also been up so I wonder about that medicine too. The benadryl is more important though because of my allergies.

Has anyone had any issues with medicines not working? Like they are not being absorbed into your system?

I actually see the nurse practitioner tomorrow so I am going to ask her about it too.

I don't know why the benedryl pills would not be working, but I was going to suggest using the liquid.
