Two steps forward, one step back

Hi, I am new and just joined today. I had a diVinci assisted full hysterectomy with ovaries removed one week ago today. My recovery has been normal - I think. Yesterday I felt really good, took very little pain medicine and I think maybe I did a little too much. Today I feel exhausted, weepy, sore and totally out of sorts. Is this normal? How can one day be so good and the next be like a step backwards?

Re: Two steps forward, one step back

I think this is the story of most of our lives right now

I will have a really good day and mine seems to be followed with a couple of really bad days. I do think it is because on my good days I move around more and pay for it. I am battling an infection as well, but I am hoping for more good days soon!

Quite normal during recovery actually. Your body is using a tremendous amount of energy healing and that in itself is quite tiring. Plus you feel good one day and do, do, do and tire out your body more. Do even on good days keep within your restrictions, walk, drink plenty of water, and continue to

This is totally normal. I had my abdonmal hyster on Nov 5th.
Things do get better. Just listen to your body when its sends you signals that you might be doing to much. Just rest & pamper yourself. In couple of weeks you will look back & see how far you came.
Welcome to this site, it is a bunch of wonderful sisters here
