pity party, table for one

Ladies, we are not super human - our bodies just took a major assult. Healing, both physically and mentally takes time. We NEED to have a pity party! Had a partial hysterectomy, TVT, and inguinal hernia op all in one; three surgeons involved, on 13 Oct in Bangkok. Since I am far from home and was feeling rather sorry for myself, I started surfing the web for support. Knowing I do not walk alone has really lifted my spirits. Thanks, ladies.

I threw one of these last night. I went to bed feeling sorry for myself because I'm soooo frustrated!

I hope each day gets better for you!

I'm home a week today and starting to be a wee bit concerned that dh is going back to work next Monday. He offices from home and has been checking email an hour or two a day but has been able to pal around with 4 year-old DS and the large, energetic "puppy."

I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how I'll be fine one minute then collapse into a three hour nap the next. I'm also floored at how responsive ye olde digestive system is to everything I put in it. Cheese pizza? um, slowed things way down. Veggie soup? Sped things up. Where is that happy balance? I can honestly say I'd never in my 41 years been so concerned about the frequency and quality of my own poop. Yikes.

I'm thinking of driving a bit today. Maybe.

Wow, I am so glad to read all of you ladies responses. I too have felt the same way and have worried that my recovery is not on track. I still have a lot of pain and discomfort when I walk and thought I was being a baby. I am so glad I found this site or I would be

I would think LONG AND HARD before you decide to drive today! It will take a lot out of you. I drove just over a week after surgery and got light headed. Guess it was due to the fact that I had not been "up" for longer than 10 minutes at the time until then. You had a lot of work done inside of you; rest some more. Promise you, it'll get better! Just listen to your body before it starts to scream at you. Mine has started screaming at me that I've done WAY too much. Don't worry about DH going to work; you'll actually enjoy some peace. Does anyone else help you w/ your 4 year old? Good luck with the recovery. Just remember, TAKE IT EASY!!!

I understand about being afraid! My husband has been home with me since the surgery and he has to go out of town Wednesday- Friday of this week.

We have 5 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats! Just the thought over whelms me!

Front and center, isn't it !! It might be funnier if it weren't so true.
