Several past surgeries but the hysterectomy has left me feeling trapped and more exhausted

I had my TAH because of the progressive pain I had for six years. Prolapsing, adeno, scar tissue, loss of sex drive and enjoyment die to normal changes on vaginal tissue. Over my life I've had several surgeries. I tell friends that of the umpteen surgeries, this one did me in. I guess I regret because over that 6 years I learned to function around my pain and exhaustion. With this I feel trapped and more exhausted. I know in time it will come back around and I will be a sounding board for someone and support them the bast I can.

Hi MelissaMS, I know exactly how you feel, for a while there I felt I had jumped from the frying pan into the fire too. I too had 'coped' with my way of life, working around my issues. What I hadn't realised was that my overall health had slowly declined, physically and mentally and by the time I had my op, I think I had hit rock bottom ( down to half normal haemoglobin levels ) and an emotional mess.
My hysterectomy had it's own issues, which I think we're amplified because I was so rundown.
Trust me, it all gets better, don't be hard on yourself and give yourself time - your decline was over many years, the body needs time to recover. Love, hugs and blessings

So 8 weeks after the TAH and I'm running five Km, back at work feeling more then normal. I lost 5 lbs of fibroids along with everything else. I can't believe how different this feeling is. My biggest issues would be my mood swings are like I'm on constant PMS mode. Trying hard to recognize when I'm there in that dark place and I'll do meditation or tell myself...it's the lack of hormones so take it easy...no one is your enemy. I have noticed my hands are peeling like crazy. I don't know if it is the hot flashes and I'm losing moisture or what. I also have a really sore under arm. Mostly it is the best thing I could have done. I guess my best advise is to take it slow and follow the rules so you can heal properly. You only have one chance to heal great from this so don't rush, let people do stuff for you, don't lift anything over 10 lbs and rest. This is your ticket into being the best crone you can be. Eat well, sleep lots and just remember...you get to choose how you heal...sending healing light to all you sisters

Thank you so much at least now I have a little bit of a guide line weight wise. My mood swings haven't been too bad I had a couple very bad crying days between week 1 and 2. I had another tearful in and out day today but at least it wasn't constant. I've had a boat load and a half of stress I been dealing with. I divorced in 2012 and after that I lost my house and then my car because of the change in income. I have a very supportive bf but we don't get to stay together every day and I'm spoiled rotten by him. So I've had to spend more time then I'm use to alone at my apartment. I got fired from my job May 7th and had my surgery May 21 which just happened to be my ex-husband's birthday. I blame him for not having a child because I feel like the only chance I had to have one he took away because he read the drug insert on the fertility drug my dr put me on to help get pregnant. Because he read that there was a chance I could have multiple births he decided not to even touch me and waited until I was half way through the second months dose to tell me this. He had lied to me for about 8 years of our marriage about wanting a child. I should've known better. Anyway so the month of my surgery I was fired from my job and I almost lost my apartment because they are fighting my unemployment benefits. Then today I went to the community base services and seen 2 babies that were adorable and it made me tear eyed. Then I finally get home and have a conversation through txt messages with my bf about my ex-husband. So I've cried off and on the rest of the afternoon. I'm feeling better now though. My bf made a special trip to town just to see me and surprise me with supper and cuddle time in the bed he knws me so good oh how I am spoiled

Bless your heart honey. I seen you had your surgery on the 14, that was a week after I got fired from my job and a week before I had my surgery. I was taking pills to stop my period and pills to start my period and pills for fibroids and iron pills for my blood cause it was low. I had a lot of back pain with my periods and after my surgery I don't have it anymore . I have days my mood swings but I try to stay on the positive side. You just keep your head up and hang in there and you will be helping people too. I was on an emotional roller coaster when I had everything in there. It was a nightmare cause I couldn't enjoy anything because it was all so messed up. After my divorce I didn't think I would ever find anybody and I found my bf who has been so supportive of me. I was having all the issues of the meds not working anymore and it was starting to get me down because we have limited time to spend together anyway with both our crazy schedules. We are very active together and it was starting to mess with that too. So now even after having the surgery he's the one telling me no honey we can't do that until the dr says it's ok. It's kind of funny cause most of what I've read they say that your partner may try to pressure you before it's time and it's opposite with me. I was worried I would loose my sex drive after the surgery but it seems to be on the increase instead. I got a whole month more to go. My bf is helping me during this by us talking through some things that emotionally have left scars inside from the past. He wants all of me to heal. hang in there girl it will get better. Your body has been through a battle and a half and now that the cause is gone it's gonna have to adjust to not having to compensate for all that. That's like resetting a entire you and it's going to take a while I would think.
