Some Spotting almost 5 months post TAH/BSO & nausea

Okay, so I have been feeling a little off today....my lower abdomen...where I used to have problems has been feeling kind of crampy & bloated plus I have been super nauseas and now I am having some spotting. I am also having some pain near my incision scar and on my sides. I have also been having more hot flashes, getting dizzy, and lightheaded. The 23rd will be 5 months post op. Has anyone else had this? Should I be concerned?

Re: Some Spotting almost 5 months post TAH/BSO & nausea

I am just at 5 weeks...had the same procedure you had in March...suffered w/endo for over 20 years...I look fwd to seeing if anyone has had this or what may be causing this.

The past week has been a bit of a setback for me and I am trying my best to be hopeful. I suffered for so long and my goal is to live a healthy, relatively pain-free life. I am tired of this area of my body controlling my life.

Good luck and hopefully, this is something minor and easily fixable for you!

Have you touched base with your doctor? Almost all of your symptoms--spotting, pain, dizziness, hot flashes, lightheaded, nausea, cramping, bloating--can be from hormonal issues. Since you are not using HRT, your body is likely feeling the effects of no estrogen and is complaining.

Does your doctor recommend an alternative for ERT? How about using both estrogen and progesterone so that you could have the benefit of estrogen while the progesterone hopefully keeps any remaining endometriosis at bay?

Pain near your incisions could be adhesions. You may need some massage therapy to break things up a bit.

If you aren't keeping a symptom diary, start one. Then get in touch with your doctor to find out what your options might be. Surgical menopause is no picnic!
