Magnesium Citrate

Does anyone know how quickly this works? I have to take it tomorrow for surgery Wednesday. I have a hair and nail appointment and I don't want it to hit right in the middle of them. Does it take a few hours?

Re: Magnesium Citrate

I'd plan on staying home after taking the mag citrate. If I remember right, it's onset is unpredictable.

Re: Magnesium Citrate

It's good that you are taking care of yourself prior to surgery (hair,nails..) but I agree with what the other sisters advised, and stay home once youve taken the mag citrate. It affected me a few hours after drinking the 1st half dose, but it can have an immediate affect on other people.
Also, I remember I was told to take off all nail polish prior to surgery, so I'd check on that before getting a manicure.

Re: Magnesium Citrate

Does that include pedis too? I'd really love to at least feel like my toes were looking good! I need some pampering right now!

Re: Magnesium Citrate

You should be safe with the pedi. They put an oxygen sensor on your finger.

Re: Magnesium Citrate

It did take a few hours for me, and each time I pretty well ran to the bathroom, I didn't get much warning. There is absoloutely no way I would want to be gone from the house...an embarrassing incident would be sure to follow!

I wasn't allowed polish even on my toes.

Wishing you the very best for your procedure on Wednesday and hoping you have a smooooth recovery!

Re: Magnesium Citrate

Thanks everyone. I think you've made the decision for me. Ill take it right after my appointment. My nail appointment is to get the polish off my toes and a French manicure on my fingers. I got that approved! Thanks so much for all the responses. You guys are the best!

Re: Magnesium Citrate

We're in the same boat. I get to take the stuff tomorrow too. We'll be one step closer to feeling better.

Re: Magnesium Citrate

LOL yes I get to take the wonderful stuff too! I have to take it all within 30 min. I bet I will be staying VERY close to the bathroom! I got the lemonaid flavor...was torn between that and the cherry
