Incision is red and funky, bad 3rd week

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op from TAH and oophorectomy and noticed some burning in my incision area this morning. Everything was ok at my 2 week post op except alleged bladder spasms. I looked at the incision area after my shower and it is raw, red about 1/2" above the line, and smells funky. Yuck! I had had 2 c-sections and both healed fine even though I have a fold from the previous incisions. I called the office and am going in tomorrow morning. I have no idea what to expect.

I cought a cold last week and am miserable and tired and can't sleep without Ambien. I took Tussionex tonight with my Ambien and still can't sleep. My bladder is still spasming after taking the red pee pills for 2 days. At least my doc will address that tomorrow along with the incision area.

I was doing well, walking, going to the store, putting dishes away, etc. Now I am falling apart. Sorry, just needed to share. I will update after the doc appt.

Incision is red and funky, bad 3rd week

Wow, I could have wrote this post myself about the red burning incision. I just got home from my third incision check at my Dr's office. I had an infection, sounds like you might also with the yucky smell, and I am on Cipro for ten days. Now, all the itching and burning is me having a reaction to the neosporin that I was putting on the incision. Dr. told me to finish antibiotics and stop the ointment and to just "baby" the incision and wash with Johnson and Johnson soap. I have that terrible hanging skin for two c sections also! Hate it.

I don't sleep either, but I am afraid of all the ambien stories to take mine.

Honey, if you hurt as bad as I do, I cry for you. Check in tomorrow and tell me what the Dr tells you!

I hope your appointment goes well and you get some answers as to what is causing your discomfort.

Hoping you will feel much better soon.
