Chest X-ray?

I went in yesterday for my pre-op and had a EKG done and chest X-ray.She said the EKG looked fine. Talked to the Dr. and she said I will see you Monday morning for surgery. Well today while I was at work she called and left a message to call her. When I called her she had left for the day. I am now worried that they might of found something wrong on my chest X-ray. Can anyone tell me what the chest X-ray is for and shows. I can't think of any other reason she would of called for unless it was to discuss hormone therapy. Getting nervous. Thanks for letting me vent!

Sometimes doctors call their patients just to ask if they have any questions before surgery. The chest x-ray is to make sure your lungs are clear. For elective surgery doctors (and you) would not want to take any more risks than are absolutely necessary. Hopefully your x-ray is fine and your doctor was calling for some other reason.

s!! I know it's easy to say "just relax" but it's better than getting stressed out. Try to get your mind on something else and tomorrow you can call the doctor and find out what they want.
