Nine days to go and very anxious

Okay, I am already having panic attacks over my LAVH for the 14th...I was so nervous this morning had to take two of my klonopins....doc said it's okay to double it, it's a low dose.

I am just so worried about pain when I wake up, nervous about even waking up.

I can't sleep well and probably won't until they knock me out next Thursday...

Any words of encouragement...?

Thanks A very nervous Wisconsin woman.

Nine days to go and very anxious

My thoughts and prayers are with you....

I had a LH/BSO on 3/17 and was able to leave the hospital that same evening. I understand your anxiety and HysterSisters will help you through this as it did for me!

My surgery was 2 1/2 hours long and the last I remember was the anesthesiologist saying he was giving me something to relax. I awoke in recovery in awe that the surgery was done. The pain was minimal and easily controlled with medication.

From reading all the Post Op Posts, the main thing after surgery is to rest which is what I've been doing.

Best Wishes!

Nine days to go and very anxious

I'm 4 weeks tomorrow from a TAH/BSO and I was just like you - a nervous wreck before the surgery. And let me reassure you ... the waiting before is worse than anything you're going to experience from your surgery! I was very worried about pain after, since I was going to have a big incision - but I'm happy to say there was very little. So try and relax a bit, you're gonna be fine. I promise!

So, to work off some of your nervous energy ...try and get some meals made and frozen (easy for your family to just pop in the oven than cook from scratch, if they're not used to doing that), clean your bedroom really well (or wherever you're gonna be spending the majority of your time recouperating), move things up to waist height that you use a lot (so you don't have to bend after) and then plan on spending the first 2 weeks your home in your jammies. I also got books and movies, but have found that I just wasn't interested in anything like that until this week.
