Slowing down is hard to do
RedHot,
I empathize and sympathize with you. I have been a single mother and sole provider for my two children. Although I have a new partner of four years I still can't shake the feeling of being the only responsible person for others in my family. I'm a Type A, first-born product of two Type A first borns.... what can I say. It's very difficult to slow me down and I resent the heck out of anything or anyone I perceive as attempting such!
I had pid/endo problems (pain) for three years before I allowed my doc to do a lap to remove abdominal adhesions to my bladder and intestines. Three months afterwards I learned I had thyroid cancer. This was my wakeup call. I had to slow down long enough to take care of myself. I had to let family members take care of me and/or themselves/each other. I had to lean on God to alow others to help me, and get through my cancer surgery and radition. My greatest fear was not being there for my young children (ages 14 and 11 at the time). I worked full time, cooked, cleaned, and was the soccer mom, DI coach, drama queen backstage mother, etc. I was able to keep my job and I still work, but it took God's devine intervention to accomplish this. Unfortunately, the HRT I took to suppress my endo symptoms did not work well with my Thyroid replacement hormones and I had to stop the HRT. My endo symptoms became bad enough to cause me to agree to an LSH, last Friday. I am already feeling better.
I know what you face will most likely take more time to recover than what I am going through, but you absolutely have to take time to take care of yourself so you can be there for others. Take one issue (the most life threatening issue) at a time and deal with it. Let others help you, let them know you need them. You are in my prayers and I will add you to my Home Team prayer list. We will all be here for you too.
Peace,
Lauri

HELP! I need guidence
RedHot- It must seem that you are deep inside the refiners fire at this point! Hang in there. As far as the ovaries are concerned, the Dr's know best as per your health history and family history, IF they have to go, you can use bioidentical hormone replacement which are personalized for you, you will want to get a complete hormone profile done, including DHEA, thyroid, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.....
You may be experiencing the hair due to imbalance, the dr. should be able to help you with that. Probably best to go forward on this as I have read here that some ultrasounds completely miss some fibroids if they are on the backside and outside of the uterus, like behind it.... and that can cause problems on other organs, like intestines, and bladder. Once your Hyster is over, your bladder problem may be greatly improved.
I think you are getting good advice, stick to one DR, and maybe call on an OBgyn /oncologist if you feel there is a chance there may be cancer, in that event when they open you up, the Cancer Obgyn might be better equiped to proceed with removal of the cancerous tissue. That way you won't have to go through surgery twice. There are plenty of us here that will be praying for you and for your mom too, try to relax and just go forward the best you can. If one of your DR's thinks there is a chance of cancer, they can probably recommend or call in a obgy/oncologist to at least be there for your surgery as an option.
Good luck
