I have a question regarding my scar

I haven't seen this covered on here, and I don't think it's something to necessarily call the dr about:

My right side of my incision looks really good. My left side looks really weird. I have a decent-sized sunken area, and this causes my belly above my scar to hang down over the bottom. As a result, this skin never sees the light of day, so it's discolored. I also have to be careful to clean the dirt out that gets caught.

My question is: What has caused the sunken area? I could understand if it was my right side, as that could have been when my appendix is, but my left side? And why is it sunken at all?

I have a question regarding my scar

Tina,

I didn't have an external incision, so I am really no help to you. I wanted to send you s and hopefully, someone who has an experience to share with you will be along.

I have a question regarding my scar

Hi Tina,

I am about 2 and 1/2 weeks post-op and I'm having a similar problem. My incision was vertical, from my pelvic bone to just above my belly button. I too notice my right side is looking pretty good while my left side is lumpy and more puffy looking. I asked my Dr. about it at my two-week check up on Monday and he said he wasn't quite sure why it was like that but it wasn't uncommon. He also said that it could be that it is hard to get things perfectly straight while we are under because we are so loose with no muscles tightened up.

He did say it should heal up just fine and that it just takes time. I'm just going to have to trust him on that since there isn't anything I can do about it at this point!

Hope you are move even soon!
Hugs,
Tracie
