I had my staples out yesterday. Oh..I had a TAH-BSO. The doctor said I'm doing great. Still have a pain in my left side, which he says is normal. He said I can do more activity every day, so I decided to stop at Walmart after the appt. Bad idea. I think I overdid. So, I paid with it by having more pain last night. I get tired, but can't sleep at night.

Hi dysgrunti,
I didn't go to Walmart for 3 months and the first time I went my dh went with me and then every time after that I used the electric cart and am still using it. I do walk the smaller stores now but I just can't do Walmart yet. The pain in your side will get better with time just rest when you need to and listen to your body it will tell you when you have done to much.

I didn't go to our Big Walmart. It's a little, old Walmart. I went to exactly what I needed & left. I'm not up to walking that far yet. I went into the grocery store, straight to the Deli & got my crab salad while my son ran around the store. I'm not even up to grocery shopping yet.

Hi!Glad you are doing well!!I have been dying to do our grocery shopping..We do our shopping at supercenter walmart..I bet by the time i get out i have walked 3 miles..My husband has been great about doing the shopping..I think i like him going better than me!!He spends less $ and gets better stuff HAHA...

You talked about pain in your left side..I also have that..I had my left ovary taken out..My right side doesnt hurt a bit..I can only describe it as someone kicked me in my rib?Did the Dr. mention what that was from?Just the surgery/trauma etc...?

Good luck to you and i hope you continue to get better each day!

My pain is in my left side also, but that is where the large fibroid was. I don't have pain there all the time but if its going to act up that is where I will have it. I have been walking around ASDA which is a UK Wal Mart since the 2nd week. I was really tired, but I think the more we walk the more stamina we build up. Walking won't hurt us as long as know when it is to much and we get our rest when we need it. I think walking is about the only exercise we can do safely for the first few weeks or couple of months. I am afraid to try anything else. I had a hard time sleeping at first but now a month later, I sleep very good.Hugs - Cath

I just wrote in another post about the left sided pain. Its so weird that so many of us have this. The weird thing with me is before the surgery I always had right sided pain and this was the side I had the biggest cyst. Now I feel no pain on that side at all. Do they do something different during surgery on the left side. Maybe its near another organ and thats why we are feeling the pain. Its very strange. Mine almost feels like my hip bone is bruised at times too.

All the doctor told me about the left side pain is a lot of women have it. I had both ovaries & tubes removed also. He said a lot of the pain comes from the pulling & tugging & clamping while they are trying to what they need to. He also said in my case I had a very large uterus from fibroids which made more moving of other organs. My son wants to know what fills up the empty space now? He's 17 & is just learning to drive. So, he's the chauffeur. I do a good bit of walking, which is the only thing the doctor said I can do in the way of exercise. And NO lifting. So, I do little shopping.

That is very weird. My DR. left my left ovary, but took my right one. The left one never hurt before but now it's a killer. STRANGE!!!! I bet it only hurts now because everything else that hurt before is gone now. I am 4 days post and getting better everyday. I am having bouts with hot flashes though. Guess my body has to get use to having only one ovary...

I am 1 week out and going crazy being in the house! I was thinking of heading out tomorrow for a short venture..a friend of mine is letting me borrower a wheelchair, which might be a good idea. I don't go back to my doc until Feb. 13th -- I have been resting and sleeping and walking a little at a time -- I think sometimes I am just going to lose my mind being stuck in the house -- is it a good idea to venture a little bit --

TAH, was able to leave left ovary and tube --
