unknown tissue growth is bleeding

Hi all
I am 10 months out from surgery and have mostly been doing pretty good. However, about a week ago I started bleeding; it scared me so I went to the ER to be checked. After all, doesn't hysterectomy mean no more bleeding?! The doc found a growth of tissue "kind of like a polyp but not really" near the cuff. It was this tissue that was bleeding. She called my surgeon and he told her it was probably nothing and to have me schedule an appointment to see him. Has anyone else had this happen or know what this could be? I don't want to be paranoid, but since I had to have my LAVH because my uterus was made up almost entirely of pre-cancerous material, I can't seem to get my mind off of the possibility that some cells fell off and found a new home and decided to turn into cancer anyways. I now have to wait a couple weeks before my appointment and I am not sleeping because I am worried. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry to hear you are going through all of this.

Instead of cells falling off I could understand if possibly maybe some endometrial cells were left at the top of the vaginal cuff due to where the incision was to remove the cervix.

Good thing you are going to see your surgeon.
