Scared!!! Surgery tomorrow 9am

Got my call, tomorrow morning at 9am I check into the castle, for a TAH/BSO, Appendectomy and a MMK. They are saying as long as there are no problems I should be out into recover in about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs, I am telling everyone 3hrs cause my family can be a real pain in the butt, this way they have a little lead way. I had to take a xanax to calm me down already. I am soooo scared..Got my bags packed. Gonna have my favorite from taco bell for dinner, then a nice HOT bath. Hey did anyone feel up to using the computer while in the castle? I was thinking of taking mine since I requested a private room.

Goodluck to all hsving there surgerys tomorrow.

Good luck to you tomorrow. You'll be so glad having a private room. I had one and it came with a computer. My dh & I were glad to have it for emailing and surfing. Besides that and the television were the only things we used. Being on morphine I was out of it anyways. Well, enjoy your favorite meal and hot bath, you deserve it!

Scared!!! Surgery tomorrow 9am

Hi (((Katie)))
Take a breath and let all the anxiety out with it. I remember being nervous myself and so relieved when it was over. I have seen where some women have used a computer in the castle but I couldn't have. My head was way too foggy from the anesthesia. You will probably be sleepy, but then you may be one of those who is up and ready to go home in no time. You can always have it brought up if you're feeling up to it.
You're having quite a lot done so be prepared to take it slowly and just let the healing happen. You'll have lots of time to rest and post your experience and any questions once you're on the other side. I send my best wishes for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. We'll be watching for you in post op.
's, Rita

Scared!!! Surgery tomorrow 9am

i check into the castle at 8am. I didn't start getting nervous until I packed my kids for their mini vacation away. Now I am an emotional mess. I started crying watching Housewives.....come on! I have a private room also but am just planning on taking some books and watching tv. Good luck and you will be in my prayers when I say them tonight.

I hope all goes well with your surgery and you have a speedy as possible recovery.
For me the waiting to have surgery was really the worst part ! I was a wreck and took xanax too. The Dr. even let me take one the morning I went in for surgery --as long as I let them know so the anesthesiologist can adjust what he gives you.
I didn't use most of what I took to the Castle.
The morphine and and all had me sleeping a lot. What I used most was a small portable Cd player and a couple of my favorite relaxing Cds. I was glad I took extra batteries because it was so soothing for me I ran the first ones out.
I was supposed to have a private room also but after surgery they put me (temporarily) in a semi room until a private one came available. By the time it had i was already settled and didn't bother having them move me into it.
Have a good evening. All will go well

Scared!!! Surgery tomorrow 9am

Thanks Ladies, and to all for the support. We will keep each other in our thoughts and prayers. Just found out my 7 yr old Grandson is having surgery tomorrow too as well. He has to be cut, he gets a lot of infections. He is scared. Gives me good vibes that we both will be doing this together just in different states.
