Update and thank you to all sisters

Hi Ladies,

Well, I saw my second opinion doctor on Friday. He is willing to do the surgery. I'm cancelling with the specialist today.

My new date is next week Monday, the 23rd of Feb.

When I first got my date from the specialist I went off my head a bit. I wrote a note in panic on the forum and just wanted to cry. I knew I did not feel right about my decision.

That's when I went back to my second opinion doctor, and ladies, he might not be a specialist, but when he told me he could do the surgery and get rid of the adhesions with the help of another surgeon, it just felt right!!

So now I'm a week out. There's things I won't have time to get to, I need a telephone line installed at home for work purposes. I'm working from home for six weeks, not sure if that's been done before but I'm gonna try.

I've been reading on this site constantly for the last three months. I've read the good with the bad, but have also realised that once you have that feeling that everything is gonna work out fine, you feel better and more in control.

So I wanna thank all the ladies on the website who's shared their stories, who's living happilly ever after, even tho they still have their roads to walk. You are an inspiration to us all. You've given me the courage to seek second and third opinions and ask the questions I would have been too scared to ask before. You are continents away yet our bond as women makes me feel this close to you all.

So, even tho I'm still scared and nervous, I now know what to expect, and I'm looking forward to be crowned.

in one week,

Geri

((( Geri ))), it's great that you feel so much better about your choices now. Feeling confident in one's dr is very important IMO.

I hope that working at home works out for you. Just remember to ease back and rest when needed.

When you get a minute, would you go to your control panel and change the date of your surgery? That will help for those of us who sometimes have and will add you to the correct "Best Wishes" list

Hi Geri!
Glad to hear you have come to a decision! For myself, before surgery I was both nervous and excited. By the morning of my surgery, I was ready; my hubby was the one that needed the pre-op Xanax, not me! hehehehe...

That's great that you can get set-up for working from home. Don't expect too much of yourself for a couple of weeks at least. You will be under the influence of post-op anesthesia and whatever pain meds you are prescribed. I wasn't close to my "right" mind until around week 3 or 4.

Hugs, prayers and best wishes to you!

(((Geri)))

I'm so happy that you got another opinion and are feeling good about things. I wish you the very best with your upcoming surgery and I'm sending lots of good thoughts!
