Staph

Anyone else worried about getting a staph infection in the incision?

I am a little nervous. I had a close friend who had that happen and it was pretty bad. Although I hear it is not so common. Try and keep positive. Saying a quick prayer for you.

Yes, I'm worried. My father died in the same hospital I'll be in. He may have survive his episode of trauma if he hadn't have gotten staph.
I take Enbrel for Ankylosing Spondylitis/Reactive Arthritis and it lowers your immune power, so I have to stop it 1 week before surgery and 2 weeks after so I'll heal correctly.
I'm real concerned about bacterial infections, they can be really serious for me. I'm going to be a B****** about sterilization. A nurse will not touch me unless she washes her hands first!!!!!
