FInally......it's over!!!!!

Got home today around noon after my 9/23 surgery. You guys are right. The worry leading up to your date of surgery is MUCH worse than the actual surgery.

I had almost NO pain after and never got above a 2 pain tolerance level. Well........almost never. The nurse talked me into a 3 at one time. I don't believe she thought that I was being honest.

I have been more sore today than before and have some stinging. The nurse said that was normal. Also, my doctor let me come home without passing gas. He said that I had done so well that he knew the other would come. He did tell me to get back in touch if nothing had happened by Saturday. I've been drinking water, warm apple juice and was told that tea and coffee was good for you.

I can't explain to all of you the thanks for putting up with me for the last month and a half. You've explained everything as best you could and really, really helped. I've passed this site along to many.

One last question. I have internal stitches with steri strips on the top layer of skin. Do you have problems with them coming loose to early? One seems to be BUT it lays across the other stitches rather than up and down.

Thank you all again. You've been a lifesaver.

I'm so glad everything went well. Follow all your discharge instructions, and rest, walk, rest, walk, you get the idea. Welcome Home.

Finally....it's over!!!!!

The wait was the worst part of it. Glad to hear you are doing well. My steri strips came of early also and it really depends I think on yur skin holding them on. Keep posting on progress.

Yes the waiting was the worst.

I'm glad to hear you are home and things are going well. Good luck and enjoy your uterus-free body.

Oh and as azeala said, "rest, walk, rest, walk" It really does help.

Finally....it's over!!!!!

I was so scared the morning of the surgery and almost backed out, I sure am glad I didn't. When they came to take me to the OR I asked for something to calm me and I felt it right away, before we moved another foot I was OUT and did not know anything until I woke up in my room later on that day. YES the worst part is the waiting, everything else for me was a breeze.

I am so glad you are coming along well. I do agree that the waiting for the surgery is the worst. I know it was for me. I had staples in my incision this time so don't know about the steri strips. I had a previous surgery in 2003 and had glue on that incision. It came apart a bit on the lower end, but then sealed itself back up.

Finally....it's over!!!!!

They used steri strips on me when some of my "dermabond" incisions were not closing. They would stretch after showers and take a little time to get taut and dry. It fell off in a week and half...i'm sure due to me taking so many showers!!! LOL!

Congrats and getting all that over with and heading to recovery!
