2 weeks post hysterectomy: spotting

I had surgery on 12.9.14. I been feeling good until today I started to spot.has this happen to anybody else

Yes and my nurse said it is an indication you are doing too much and need to get off your feet and rest. Please do this you do not want to prolong your recovery. Take care.

Thank you how long will the spotting last if I stay off my feet

I had spotting for four weeks regardless of how much or how little I did. My dr said it can be due to vaginal cuff healing.

I had a TAH with tubes removed on 12/16 and just started spotting today. Have read on other threads that it can be your stitches dissolving, among other normal, non-scary things as long as it is light and not bright red.

I plan to call my doc on Monday if I still have it to verify, but unless it gets worse will wait out the weekend.

I'll share if I hear anything useful.

My doctor told me that this is very normal and it could pick up a week or two after surgery. I believe this is due to healing and your body absorbing the stitches. I had the discharge regardless of my level of activity. My doctor sent me home with very specific information as to what to expect after the surgery and it was spelled out specifically that this was normal unless it was heavy continuous bleeding and you are soaking through a pad an hour.

You are very welcome. Although they did send me home with a very detailed list of things to expect I still called a few times to clarify instructions.

I started spotting about three weeks out after working too many hours. I cut back and rested and it stopped in about three days and I have not spotted since. I am almost at 8 weeks out. How are you doing? I hope better.
