When do I get my brain back? When do I get my brain back?

When do I get my brain back?

Normally I am an incredibly organized person. I make lists, keep things neat - everything in its place (OK, not everything, but bills, important papers, money, keys, etc.).

Since my surgery, I'm completely scatter-brained. I can't remember where I put things and can't even remember things I need to do long enough to write them on a list. I'm sure this is totally because of the surgery trauma, hormone changes, etc., but when does it end??

Re: When do I get my brain back?

I know what you mean. I spent my first day back at work yesterday and I could even figure out how to spit out a sentence. Do we get our brains back?

Re: When do I get my brain back?

I got MOST of my brain back a few weeks after getting off all of the meds. Unfortunately I didn't get ALL of it back, LOL. I still find myself having to think much harder to remember to put things where they belong so I can find them later.

Re: When do I get my brain back?

Thanks for the responses! I have almost two weeks before I go back to work - as a computer programmer. I won't be much good like this... But maybe they'll just be so glad to see me that they won't notice how dysfunctional I am. LOL!

Re: When do I get my brain back?

I am 11 months since surgery, and I remember so well the brain issues. Keeping lists is a good idea. But please be patient with yourself, because it does get better! You will notice improvements as more time passes. You'll be fine!
