For those of you with gas pains - tips for what I found helped

I see a lot of others are also having the gas pains post-op. I did too. Mine was so bad it was painful to sit in the bed at the hospital (I know it was gas pain because it was in my rectal area). I tried walking and using the bathroom at the hospital with no luck. When I got home I jumped in the shower to wash the crud off me and before I got out I turned the water slightly warmer and then let it beat on my lower back as I slowly swayed back and forth. We have a stand up shower so I was able to put my feet against the wall on the showerhead side and then put my arms on the wall across from the showerhead and really relax my core. Within a few minutes I felt the bubble break apart and it was somewhat instant relief. The next day the pains were back and all I could find was a reusable hot/cold pack, not sure where our heating pad went. I heated it in the microwave several times an hour and placed it on my lower back, sitting in the chair or on the couch to hold it in place. I did that all day long. By that night I had total relief and haven't had trouble since. If I could have found the heating pad I would have put it on low and left it on my back.
