Cleared at 3 weeks post hysterectomy

I had my 2nd post-op appointment on the 23rd. My hysterecomerty was on the 4th of December. While I was at my appointment my dr opened the exam room door and said; you look like your walking good and doing good, so I will see you in a year. I asked about the lump at the end of my incision and she came over and looked. She explained it was where she tied off the stitches and it would make my belly flat.

She walked out of the room and said...your uterus did not have dysphasia like we suspected but don't beat yourself up about having the hysterecomerty, the cervical dysphasia and endometriosis would have lead to this anyway.

That was it, she left the room. I don't have a clue what to do, what to expect, or my next move. My FMLA paperwork clears me to work on January 10th. I'm a critical care paramedic; how do I adjust back into lifting and exercising. I will be lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing and all kinds of things once I am back at work.

I am very sad I had a hystercomety so soon when it sounded like it was needed this soon. My heart aches and I feel totally lost. Any direction you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

Did she say you were cleared for all activities or just that she would see you in a year? If you are not sure, safer to call the office and check. Also if you would needed to have the hysterectomy later anyway, maybe it was just as well that you had it now while you are younger and healthy and can bounce back better.

call and get some clarification. Find out how much you can lift and when, whether you have bending restrictions, when you can return to sexual activity etc. I don't think the doctor saying see you in a year means - ok go out and do whatever you want. Even if that is what she meant, try to pay attention to what your body tells you as you get back to your regular life. If you start bleeding or having a lot of pain you need to go a bit slower.

. I agree if the enevtiable was going to happen I would rather do it now since I'm so physically fit. I'm doing good, still have some pain when turning side to side but overall doing very well. I called her office yesterday and the receptionist said no nurses where available so I guess I will wait till Monday to call.
