4 months post op i still get sharp pain and burning feeling around and on incision, tired most of the time, is it normal

Hi I am new and have alot of questions regarding post op recovery. I had a giant cyst of 15 x 11 cm removed as well as a complete abdominal hysterectomy since they suspect cancer. They also took out cervix and part of lining the covers the organs. Cannot remember what they call it. After they took out my stitches a flood of fluid came out and the whole thing opened again. they stiched it up agian but had to leave a hole that had to be drained every day for two weeks. After that they stiched the hole up. I have a lot of scar tissue and on the incision site it still hurts, burns and sharp stabbing pain. The incision is also very hard. Feels like a wire inside me. Is this normal? How long will it take for me to feel normal again. I can only work half day then I have to rest.

Re: i still get sharp pain and burning feeling around and on incision, tired most of the time, is it normal

Very sorry to hear you had complications. I can only comment on what I experienced and the hardness of the incision is normal. I am 10 months out and can barely see the incision any longer. You'll get shooting really sharp pains, to me they almost felt like labor pains. This is normal also as the nerves heal up. This can last a few months, but do get better. Honestly normal feels really different now. The "normal" feeling I had included a lot of uncomfort, pain, swelling, sluggishness etc. My new normal after the healing is fabulous. Be patient and give yourself months to feel better. You definately will.
