Anyone up and exercising yet?
I am dying to workout and I just had surgery last week! I hate that the weather is sooo nice and I can't run or anything. I've been walking pretty good, but get sore if I do too much. I can't wait to have a good workout. I wonder how long you have to wait to do abdominal workouts? I have two big vacations planned for later this summer and I hate that I can't continue to workout, I'm gonna ask dr at my post op next week how long I have to wait, I remember asking in hospital and I think he said something about leg lifts 2 wks post op, but then again i was on morphine. lol

I am with you Shellbear. Walking is it for me. I am not one for regular exercise sessions, but pre-surgery I was regularly chasing after a bunch of 4 year olds (also known as "cat wrangling". I am trying to walk about a mile a day right now, woohoo! I may try some basic yoga when the dr lets me.

Anyone up and exercising yet?
Hi everyone,
I am post-op 3 weeks and just started walking around the block! I wouldn't push yourself too much. I too have a treadmill but am absolutely anxious to feel the sun on my face! if you do go on the treadmill I would go slow...you don't want to pull anything inside that is still trying to heal. take care.

I am also 3 weeks post-op and just walking. Probably not as much as I should be but I'm moving around a lot better. I'm dying to start working out now that all my pre-surgery pain is gone. It's hard knowing that you can't do what you feel ready for. Just listen to your body and take it easy. Obviously if it hurts, stop right away. Why not put a call in to your Dr and get his/her opinion on the matter? I'm sure it would put your mind at ease.
Take care ladies.

Anyone up and exercising yet?
I went to the gym for the first time yesterday. I walked 15 minutes on the treadmill at 1.5 mph (I usually do 45min at 3.0mph). At the very end, I felt a little tug in my belly, so quit right away. Today I'm more sore there than usual. So maybe I'll skip today and try again tomorrow. I don't want anything tearing inside and causing adhesions or complications!!

Anyone up and exercising yet?
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone out there has a tried and tested good fitness plan that they used themselves to ease slowly back into exercising. I too am 5 weeks out and want to start incorporating fitness back into my life. Any trainers or hard core exercisers out there?

I just saw my family doctor yesterday and she said walking two miles a day is plenty for now. So, that's what I do. I am two weeks post-op. She told me not to push it and thinks I am doing very well for having it only be two weeks out. I guess that's a good sign.
