5 days post op daVinci - low abdominal aching

Anyone have more aching 5 days post op from DaVinci than they did in the beginning? Surgery on Monday to remove uterus/cervix (kept ovaries). Uterus 3-4 times normal size due to fibroids but surgeon was able to remove it intact vaginally (thanks to births of large babies earlier in life he said I was "stretchy").

Overall recovery has been only mildly painful other than some on-and-off gas cramps and I've only needed 1/2 a vicoden both yesterday and the day before. But until yesterday I had no lower abdominal aching. My pain was mostly up in my ribs and around my incisions and felt like sore muscles. That pain is now much better, but I've had more lower abdominal achiness and sort of like mild menstrual cramps since yesterday, and more bowel pressure and feeling like I need to go even though I may have just went. I'm taking stool softeners and things are soft and moving at least a couple times a day so know I'm not constipated. I was also a lot more tired yesterday and today I have some mild low back pain as well. Is it normal to have this pressure/pain occur this far out from surgery? I'm worried something has dropped or that there's bleeding or something going on internally. (Other than an an occasional tiny light pink spot, no vaginal discharge so far.) No fever either.

I am 18 days DaVinci post op and I have had that constant pressure and pain on the right side that you speak of since the surgery...it hasn't really gone away. I had my first follow up on Thu and the Doc said everything I am experiencing is normal. I have 2 incisions on the right said, 1 left and 1 through the belly button. Doc explained to me that the 1 incision on the right is a DaVinci incision and the other on the right is a true laparascopic incision which is more aggressive and invasive than the DaVinci one. It puts more pressure on the ab muscles and abdominal wall which could be causing the pain.

I say, if it is really bothering you, you may want to call your Doc or speak to the nurse just to see if what you're feeling is normal. Obviously, if it gets worse or you develop a fever or more bleeding you definitely want to see your Doc.

I had intermittent shooting pains in my lower abdomen and left lower back until week 4. My doc said it was from the vaginal cuff. I took ibuprophin for it. I had a DvH.
