Silly question, advice please :)
It's been three weeks since my TAH and one of the biggest things bothering me is that I can't shave my legs! Does anyone out there have any advice or tips on how I can shave my legs? It's so uncomfortable to try to bend down and do it and I'd really rather not wait a few more weeks. Thanks!

Silly question, advice please :)
Hey, I had my TVH on 4/22. Starting at 1 wk. post op, I absolutely had to shave! BAsically I just did as usual in the shower...but since my belly was and is so swollen, I kinda leaned over at a side angle...so as not to "squish" my tummy!
My other suggestion would be to have your sig. other do it!!!

I didn't trust DH to shave my legs. I have seen what the man is capable of doing to his own face! LOL!
What I did was sit on the edge of the tub and shave mine. That way I was only extending my leg out in front of me and didn't have to bend much.

Silly question, advice please :)
Since I didn't want my husband shaving my legs, bought Nair and had him put it on for me one week post op. My legs feel so much better than when I shave, I've given up my razor and now use Nair once a week.

I wish I could use the Nair or the Neet.....I'm allergic to them both.I guess I'll just have to have hairy legs for another week

Hi Kmk81975;
I am allergic to nair and neet as well.
I solved the shaving problem by putting one leg up on the closed toilet seat. Then I could reach to shave! No problem!
Good luck to you!

Hi, due to swelly belly, I find also find it uncomfortable to even have my foot on a stool and try to shave--tummy gets in the way and gets squished! To shave my legs, I stand upright in the shower and bend my leg to raise my heel toward my bottom. and I don't have to lift my leg far to be able to first loofa my leg and lather up before using a razor. I admit I can't see where I am shaving but it seems to get the job done for me. Isn't it amazing the kind of work-arounds we have to invent to do something that you wouldn't normally have to think about at all!
Have a nice recovery!!
Jill
