Frequent urination & no uti could it be from swelling

I know I posted here before about my issue with frequent urination. Say my DR yesterday for my
1st post opp app, she says Im healing well. Of course I had tons of questions for her, which she pretty much answered them.

Just one Im still a little confused. I have to use the restroom about ever hour. I have no faul smell or anything in the urin. I had given her a urin sample to check for UTI, she said she doubt it. She said that she could not do the testing there cause the point Im at now in my healing I would still have some blood in my urin, she said she would send it off to a lab. She feels it should get better.

Can any of you make me feel more confertable about what Im feeling & going through.

Re: Frequent urination & no uti could it be from swelling

I had a sense of urgency with no infection (and a trace of blood) at about the eight week mark. My dry vaginal cuff tissues were causing some of my bladder discomfort. I found relief with Azo Standard on my worst days. The bladder gets a bit traumatized from being moved so, what you are going through is something many of us have experienced.

i have the same problem and my dr said it is from the bladder not only being moved around, but it is also repositioned. it will take awhile for the bladder to get used to its new spot.

Re: Frequent urination & no uti could it be from swelling

I had a bladder infection at 3 weeks post op. I still had frequency and urgency at my 6 wk post op. Dr. strongly felt it was from a drop in estogen ( i kept my ovaries ) She gave me premarin vaginal creme. I have been using it for 2 weeks and my urgency/freqency has definitely calmed down.

Wow, very interesting, I had no clue that a drop in estogen could cause this. I have only my left ovary, right one all gone.

Re: Frequent urination & no uti could it be from swelling

Wow...you brought back some painful and frustrating memories! The strange thing is I am a little over 7 months post op and when I have a full bladder and allow my body to release what seems to be a gallon of liquid...I still think of the weeks where I could only dribble and was so terribly uncomfortable. My only "fear" with surgery was that I would not be able to have the same bladder control as I did when I was teaching...which is an incredible bladder control time. So you can imagine that I was "sure" it would never be the same. It is the same! Don't remember quite when it happened but I am still thankful to this day for being able to hold it and let it go!!!!

I had my surgery a few weeks before you, and I'm still urinating pretty frequently but not as often as I did in the first few weeks. I think frequent urination is a pretty common thing that eventually goes away, but it takes a while.

Re: Frequent urination & no uti could it be from swelling

Hi,
I had similar history to you but kept both ovaries. Now I am 11 weeks post op I feel great but since recommencing all my normal activities I feel almost constantly like I need to wee! I can go every 30 or 45 minutes (only small amounts).
I am wondering about a UTI also, but I feel fantastic, not ill at all.
I only saw my specialist last week and he was very happy. Trouble is this need to wee started just after I saw him!
I will check in with the GP.
Hope you heal beautifully.
