Anyone hurting after 5 months?

Hi Everyone! It's been awhile since I've written a post. My hyster was on May 9th and I have been feeling really good up until the last few weeks. I'm a full-time student, part-time worker, wife, step-mom, step-grandma, and I feel like I go, go, go all of the time. I get really tired and can't figure out why and then remember that maybe it's still okay to be tired occasionally since my surgery was only 5 months ago. The thing is that I'm not just tired but my incision is also starting to hurt again. The outside looks really good and healed and everything but it has started to pull and hurt now. Does this make sense? Could it just be scar tissue? Has anyone else felt a little pain or discomfort this long after their surgery? Any advice or suggestions as to what it might be would be helpful. I saw my dr. at the store the other day but didn't say anything to him because I know he must get people all of the time who try to have an "appointment" with him when they run into him in public. Sorry this is kind of long but thanks for any help or advice.

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

Hi - I wonder if it is some of the nerves "waking up" at this point? I had surgery May 10th and get twinges of pain/feeling around the swelly belly and the incision- nothing major but I find it strange. I would call your Dr. just to be sure what the cause is. We are still healing!

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

I have had a pain like that at 4 months. It felt like someone was pulling at my incision trying to split me back open. It hurt quite badly, I actually took a pain pill. It seemed to go away in a couple days. I have no idea why it happened, but maybe it's just part of the healing experience.
I hope you feel better soon!!

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

My specialist says its abrasions on the scar tissue. It feels like I'm being split it two and cannot sit comfortably for long - hard work as back in full time teaching where everyone expects me to be 100%. I bend and its like needles all down my tum. Only pain killers that work are co codamol that makes me tired so can only take at night - the relief of a bath...so tired too. Gp says still early days and to take it easy. I feel like and old woman. Has anyone found pain relief for daytime use?

I know it takes a long time to heal but just to be sure I would definitely talk to your doctor if it is more than a twinge.

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

I still get twinges now and again - on occasion...a sharp twinge. These are happening with less frequency thankfully.

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

Had tah + bso june 8th and have always had intense pain but from about 3ins above my incision. I had lots of internal bleeding immediately post op. and also a vault haematoma. I am now have been prescribed mediaction to numb the nerve ending but am still in constant pain and finding it uncomfortable to sit especially now as I am on the computer. My pain is now worse and the incision area is extremely painful and I get terrible swelly belly. I look about 6 months pregnant. Ironically I used to be an auxilarry nurse on gynaecology and have never experienced anyone with all these complications before. Has anyone else got these symptoms as at the moment I feel everything is getting worse and I wish I'd never gone through this op.
Please contact me if you are the same as I think I am going mad.

Dear Debbie,at last someone who understands how I feel. Back teaching after TAH and both o's and cervix out in April. Pain, feels like someone trying to open it all again! GP says still early days. But I need pain relief! Can't sit at work and starting to get tearful. Any ideas (been to hospital) says can have anoither op but scars will form again!)Can feel needles down my tum- cant bear tight clothes and l;ook pregnant. No periods though . But do keep wondering if maybe I should have left the 'mellon sized' lumps in!M

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

Hi Maureen
Thanks for the reply. Your symptoms sound the same as mine. My GP and
gynaecologist say it is nerve ending pain and hopefully under the medication
it will go away but I find it getting worse I think it must be the nerves
waking after surgery. The thought of surgery agian terrifies me as I am sure
it will you!! The feeling of needles in your tum is what I am experiencing
too, along with a burning sensation the only way I can describe it is to say
it's like a hot knife running along my scar and a few inches above. I am
still not driving yet, I went out last week in the car but it was so
uncomfortable. I have read about nreve pain on the internet and apparently
it is a complication following lower abdominal surgery. As I said I am on
amytriptiline but as time is going on the needle sensation is getting worse.
I have to go back to GP in a week but like yours he says we have to give it
at least 6 months. I look preggie and have tried all sorts of things to
support my tum and hopefully get rid of swelling but nothing works. Keep me
informed of your outcome and I will do same. I hope you are O.K. and maybe
this experience will get better for both of us.
Take Care.

Anyone hurting after 5 months?

Hi - It has been since May 5, 2005 that I had my complete hysterectomy and I have been a little twing now and then. Sometimes I get some itching feeling around my incision as well. I agree, I feel that if the pain persists, see your ob/gyn regarding the pain. Remember, you may internal stiches inside and it takes time for your internal areas heal. I was told anywhere from 6 mos to a year. Be patient and don't let it get you down.

God bless you. God bless all of you.
