6 months post hysterectomy, still have gas and abdominal pain
I had a laparoscopic partial (removed cervix too) on September 29th to help treat bad endometriosis and I've had a few lasting issues:
Gas pain with nausea randomly
Stinky belly button
End of vaginal canal pain during vigorous sex
Pain around belly button
Weird feeling in my belly like there is nerve damage when it's touched
I can't wear my corsets anymore. I can't lose the weight I've gained. I smell I'm not sure if it's chronic or not. I just had the worst depression of my life this winter. I don't even know what's connected to my surgery because I can't go back to the doc.
Does anyone else have these issues? I feel crazy

Re: 6 mos post op, still have gas, abdo pain
Hi, I didnt have same type surgery as you, but what Ive heard about endometriosis, is that it can occur outside of the uterus, therefore you could have some continued issues with that...It would be good if you could atleast see another Dr to discuss your symptoms. Gas pain, be sure to eat smaller meals spaced out, apples, veggies, hydrate, increase fiber. When our hormones slow down, I believe it can slow digestion. Some sounds like you're having issues with hormones, like the depression & a Dr can get you regulated. Even if youve kept ovaries, they could have a diminished function. I hope you feel better..
Its possible you're still having nerve issue from surgery & it could take longer to repair itself.

6 months post hysterectomy, still have gas and abdominal pain
I had problems with stinky belly button in past with white discharge and it was infected. All I did was rub antibiotic ointment in there for a few days and it healed. That would be the easiest to treat if that is what is going on and no issue with not seeing a doctor.
But another time, I had problems with some belly button soreness and odor and to my surprise when I treated my bacterial vaginosis infection it cleared up, too. I also think treating the subsequent yeast infection helped. I have used flagyl antibiotic prescribed by doctor but also made my own boric acid capsules and inserted them in my vagina. Google home remedies for bv to find out more. Would be ideal to get definitive diagnosis from doctor, though. Hth.

While I don't have experience with most of your issues, I can offer you my perspective on the gas and nausea. I have been diagnosed with poor stomach motility, so I have these issues on an ongoing basis. What has helped me has included regular exercise, peppermint tea, small frequent meals, regular addition of ginger, and minimizing or avoiding hard to digest foods; that includes legumes, onions and garlic, cabbage and its relatives, cucumbers, melons, pears, and artificial sweeteners. If these issues have continued for this long, then there might be something else going on, completely unrelated to the surgery, so ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist. Best wishes for your continued recovery!
