TVH- recovery time

I have not been able to find much information on TVH recovery time. One one site it listed the recovery time similar to LAH. Any suggestions?

I had a TVH and I would say the first 2 weeks were kinda slow going but after that I felt really good. I had very little pain from the morning after surgery. It did take about 3 weeks before I could sleep on my stomach again but other than that I had no complaints what so ever. I had lifting restrictions for 6 weeks, nothing over 10 lbs. and of course the basics no vacuuming or sweeping and no baths for 6 weeks either. I could drive at 2 weeks also. Everyone heals differently, this is just how I healed. I hope this helps you some. Good luck on your up coming surgery and keep us posted on how you are doing.

The inital recovery for a TVH is about 6 - 8 weeks and this varies from individual to individual. My recovery after my TVH was similar to cats3 and very uneventful. You might find the Pre-Op Checkpoints helpful as you prepare. There are great descriptions of the different types of hysterectomies, too.

I had a TVH and my dr. said recovery time was 4-6 weeks. I felt great 2 days out, doing things that I would normally do, except for lifting and being on my feet alot. I was released to resume all normal activity at 5 1/2 weeks. I've never felt better!!!!
