Does everyone have a catherer?

The packing referred to in this thread is vaginal packing. Some doctors pack the vagina with gauze immediately after surgery. I didn't have it, but I gather from what I've read here that it's usually removed the day following surgery. It seems to be an individual doctor preference whether you have it or not.

If you didn't have a catheter, wouldn't you pee all over the operation table LOL?

I had mine until the following day. When I woke up in the recovery room, I told the resident that I felt like a needed to pee. He told me that I had a catheter and I was not used to it, I just had to relax my bladder. It was not a problem and I was glad to not have to get up that first day.
