Had surgery 8/21

Hi All.

Its been awhile since Ive visited the site. Last week I drove 7 1/2 hrs to atlanta for surgery. My surgery was more extensive than they were prepared for but all I can say is what a week. On 8/21 I had lapex laprascopic surgery. The dr excised my endo, removed my uterus, appendix, fixed a hernia, did a cystoscope with hydrodistention showing moderate to severe interstitial cystitis, and a hysteroscope. My uterus was beyond repair so they removed it. I had a supracervical hysterectomy. They excised endo from my bladder, both abdominal walls, my ureters, my tubes, my bowels had a few spots, and the cul de sac and rectovaginal wall. I spent the night in the hospital on the dilaudid pca. it was wonderful. I was up walking that evening. Surgery had lasted 4 hrs. Friday am the pca was removed and I was placed on morphine er and ir. we drove home that night. Sat I woke up extremely swollen in my legs and we went to the er that evening at the advice of my surgeon. He thought it may just be excess fluid but wanted to rule out blood clots even though we stopped every hour to walk it was still possible. So the er dr did ultrasounds of both legs and said no clots and sent me home. Continued to take morphine swelling still present sunday. Sunday evening around 8 pm took my med and something didnt feel right. within minutes I was in anaphalactic shock I was allergic to the morphine. went to er and they gave meds to calm it down. and sent me home. called dr monday morning he switched me to percocet 10 and started me on lasix to get the swelling down. come to find out the swelling was my allergic reaction to the med. The week has been extremely painful. Im still having pain when I sit down and also what I can only describe as possible rectal pain. Having a bm is painful as sorry TMI its almost like I can feel it moving down my intestines. does anyone else experience this? they did insert a instrument that would prevent them from cutting to deep in the bowel when removing my endo. Possibly its that that is causing the pain. Been dealing with bladder spasms from the ic as well. Other than that Im hanging in there.

I was so upset about losing my uterus as I wanted and prayed the dr would be able to excise my endo and make it possible for my husband and I to have another baby. I instead had to lose my uterus. I knew it was a huge possibility to help me become painfree but in my mind i was hopeful for repair. My husband being the sweet man he is went and got me a baby. He is a yorkie/terrier mix and he is the love of my life. He probably is 2 lbs and is the sweetest dog ever. His name is Mobley. We lay in bed and watch tv and take our afternoon walks together. He has brought so much joy to me and has made recovery so much easier!

Sorry for the novel and I hope each of you are feeling better. Im just ready to not need pain meds. I have ventured to walmart and used the carts they help. Ive driven short distances with no problem. Im ready to be able to clean as hubby does his best but Im really picky on my house and it just doesnt match my standards. I do thank him but deep down I wanna tell him he isnt doing it right LOL It wont be too much longer though and I will be able to get back in the groove of things. I have alot of catching up to do.

I am sorry for all of your set backs and hope this post finds you feeling/doing much better! You made me cry when you told what your husband did !!!LOL That was sooooo sweet!!!!! I have 2 yorkies and they are my babies and the love of my life also. They have been so good to lay with me during my recovery. I am fortunate because I have 2 grown children and 3 grand daughters but these little furbabies.....well there is nothing like them!!!!! Their love is unconditional and they are sooooooo loyal!!!!!! They don't ask for much in return.... clean puppy pads, food, water, and a walk everyday. I hope your recovery is good and PLEASE don't jump into cleaning TOO soon!!!!!! It is not worth hurting yourself and setting your recovery back!!!!!
