Acne 5 weeks post op :(:(

Why?! Why?! Whyyy?! Just when I thought life would get better after surgery (and it has by 90% really!) My only issue at the moment is struggling with breakouts. This is so depressing. I've struggled with ane most of my life and the only time I had clear skin was when I was on Lupron depot for fibroids.. How is that?! I thought once having my uterus removed it would go away and it was fine up until about week 3...it's been horrible ever since. I only have one ovary left. I am wondering if this is the cause? My post op apt is on the 19th and I will speak to my doctor about it.

anyone else experience this? Any remedies I should look for? Please help! I honestly seem like I just can't get a break with acne. Will I suffer with it for the rest of my life?!?!?

Hugs to all and hoping your recoveries are uneventful and smooth xox

Re: Acne 5 weeks post op :(:(

I too thought life would be wonderful again after surgery but nope, it's not. So you're not alone in feeling that way.

I'm thinking it may be hormone related. Even since you kept an ovary, it was traumatized by surgery and has to get back to working normally again.

I had both ovaries removed but noticed about a month after that my skin was more oily than normal and was having pimples pop up. Ugh. Hopefully, your skin will clear up and return to normal with time....I know, I so don't like the phrase 'give it time'. I'm very impatient!! lol

Re: Acne 5 weeks post op :(:(

I had my hysterectomy last May (of 2012). I have had breakouts off and on since then (mainly on my chin/mouth area), but it is beyond awful right now - all over my chin, spreading to my cheeks. Even worse than it was in my teenage years (I just turned 42 last week). I do have a dermatologist appt. next week and hope she can help!! I have one ovary left - so I am not sure if that is the cause or not. I am not taking HRT - but my gyn said that the derm may prescribe it. I have to look into the pros/cons first, I guess.

Thanks ladies. It's so hard dealing with this. Just when I thought I dealt with one problem another arises. Can we all just catch a break for once?! Ugh! I guess i should count my blessings as thr recovery process has been extremely smooth and uneventful except for thr acne....I read so many of the other ladies experiences that my issue seems so minor in comparison.

I wish you both luck and all the very best
xo
