Back Pain & Leg Cramps

I'm new here and I'm so thankful to have found this forum. I just wish I'd found it pre-op instead of post-op because I've read some awesome advice on here. First of all, I've had a pretty easy recovery (4 1/2 wks. post-op) except fighting a bladder infection for 2 weeks and I had a yeast infection at my 4 week post-op appt. Now those issues have been resolved now to my new one. I've noticed for the last 2-3 weeks I have terrible leg cramps in the evenings. At times my legs feel like they're on fire. I first noticed this happening as I was driving but now it's at no certain times. I started eating more bananas & taking a multi-vitamin without success. Anyone with similar experiences???

I also had a rectocele repair so I expect it to be uncomfortable if I sit for long periods of time. My lower back hurts so bad if I sit for longer than 10-15 minutes and if I walk longer than 10-15 minutes at a time. I was hoping that I could get back to walking more by now but this back pain is not allowing me to.

I had my lap surgery done due to chronic pelvic & back pain that became dibilitating without strong pain meds. The dr's. suspected endometriosis but I had nothing but benign cysts on my ovaries. So far the only real pain I'm having now is the back pain & leg cramps. Can anyone maybe shed some light on these issues for me?

I'm glad you found us and really pleased that your recovery has gone well apart from a few hiccups.

I'm afraid I have no idea why you have leg cramps, apart from the possbility that it could associated with your back pain or trapped nerves following surgery. But, I'm only guessing. However, any sort of leg pain post-op should be checked out by a doctor, as the worse case scenario is possible blood clots. I don't mean to worry you, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Will you let us know what you find out? Take care.
