Did your personality change after hys?
Hello sisters,
I have this question for all of you because I feel so different...I see things from a different perspective...I feel "lighter"...much better...It has just been three weeks...a month next week! Time went fast...
Thank you.

Did your personality change after hys?
I feel just so thankful my cancer was contained and my surgery was my cure. That really gives you quite a perspective on life. I am the same person, but I am much stronger for it and feel after dealing with this, I could conquer the world. I also feel more courageous to handle whatever other health woes may come my way. I feel so blessed by God.
Good question. I'm glad you feel good

Did your personality change after hys?
I do feel a little different these days. I guess I just didn't realize just how bad I felt for so long. All the problems I was having pre-hyst came on gradually and I guess I just thought that's how you're supposed to feel. Now that I'm 5 weeks out and getting back to my normal life I can see a huge difference this hyst has made for me. No pain which inevitably means a better mood! I'm really excited about the future and what it means for me and my family...there are so many brighter days ahead! I wish brighter days for all my sisters too!!!! God bless each of you!

Did your personality change after hys?
My personality definitely has changed. Then again, I was hit with everything all at once. Divorce, the loss of my father to cancer, then finding out that I had cancer as well. The hysterectomy has taught me to be very strong and that I can and WILL get through whatever mishaps life puts in my path.
On the other hand, I had a car accident at 4 weeks post-op that did a number on my face and neck. I learned through THAT experience coupled with the hysterectomy that I need to SLOW DOWN sometimes and quit feeling like I have to be Superwoman!
I now realize that I am beautiful, no matter how big my belly gets. I am strong, no matter how much assistance I may need. I can be sad when I need to be, no matter what other people may think I "should" feel. My life is MINE to live, no matter what preconceived notions my friends and family had for me.
And, most importantly - I know what is RIGHT FOR ME, no matter how many people oppose my decision.

Like sisterpn things that led up to my hyst came on gradually and over a long period of time. Looking back I can't believe how I had changed post-op. Post-op, I consider myself back to my normal personality with a little more take charge attitude because I feel like I got my life back.

Did your personality change after hys?
I have been feeling the same thing, this week is 5 weeks and have a totally different outlook on everthing. I did not realize how bad I felt for so long before the surgery. Before my surgery I was in constant pain, lived on Aleeve and always felt stressed. It is great not to feel this way anymore.

I feel exactly the same apart from being a bit honkerblonked off at the medical profession and being bored with being a crippled old woman. Apart from that I am the same but then I didn't have many symptoms before the hyst so being in pain for the last 6 weeks has been a bit of a downer considering I didnt have any pain before.

For the record I did not say honkerblonked. I think that is hilarious. I thought they would asterix it out not replace it with a silly made up word - LOL

Did your personality change after hys?
Well, I was thinking about this last week. One of my coworkers said I am really standing up to my boss. I used to just kind of I don' know, kind of reason with him but didn't expect much.
I have said to people that I think with the removal of my uterus went my BS buffer, I just have no patience for it.
Then again, I think this might tie with my new found need for no clutter, it just drives me nuts where before clutter chaos didn't bother me at all.
Maybe its just a need to find a 'new normal'. Time will tell.
