Anyone else end up with an ileostomy????

About 6 weeks out from my Davinci LRH and feeling wonderful. Hasn't been an easy road because the surgeon burnt a hole in my colon and it wasn't discovered for a week. The discovery ultimately led to a loop ileostomy that will be taken down around November. The first week was terribly hard for me emotionally, but my kids and my mom made it sooo much easier...and kinda comical actually I find myself very nervous about the upcoming surgery, but I certainly don't want to keep this bag if I don't have to. I keep reading the horror stories so if anyone has success stories for the ileostomy take down, I would sure appreciate hearing them!!

Re: Anyone else end up with an ileostomy????

I personally have not had an ileostomy. My son had a colostomy for a year and the take down went well. The size of the incision surprised me and he was sore but I wouldn't say in terrible pain. Prayers for you. I hope all goes well.
