Hi all~
Recovering from my hysto on 11/5 and i'm happy to say that i'm not bleeding. Is that normal? When I use the binder, how tight should I wrap it around on me? TIA

Margie

Re: No bleeding............

Hi Margienol, Glad your doing well. I didn't wear the binder but I can say I had 1 day of post op bleeding the day after and that was it. I guess we are some of the lucky ones Hope you keep having a speeding recovery.

Re: No bleeding............

Margie on a successful surgery! I had no bleeding or spotting or discharge past day two post op I think and I believe that was residual from the surgery (that was even very minimal)
Not everyone experiences bleeding or spotting post op, so Yep, I would say count yourself as one of the lucky ones

As for the binder, I would say wear it as tightly as you are comfortable with. The main goal is support, so whatever works for you, just don't make it too tight. I absolutely loved the support I got from my binder, although I did have to take it off when I was sleeping, it got a little uncomfortable. Other than that it was my saving grace

I wish you a successful recovery.

No bleeding............

Hi Margie

I had TLH (kept ovaries) on 01Nov.

Still no bleeding, not even spotting.
We must be lucky! :-)

Sorry, don't know about the binder as not using one myself.

Wishing you and all the ladies a speedy recovery :-)

Re: No bleeding............

I had. The slightest of spotting yesterday (day 1 post-op) and nothing since yesterday afternoon. It's so variable, but I feel really lucky it wasn't more.

I'm not using a binder, so I don't know how that works.

Re: No bleeding............

I have had no spotting or bleeding at all, my LSH was Oct 23rd so i'm a little over 2 weeks out now. I asked my dr when I went Monday if I should expect to have any spotting or bleeding in the upcoming few weeks and he told me that I wouldn't. In my case I still have my cervix and he said that they cauterize very well.

As for the binder, I used a beband maternity belly band from target not one made specifically for abdominal surgeries. It worked really well and wasn't restrictive at all. I would suggest just putting it on snuggly but not tight

Re: No bleeding............

I had the lightest spotting the first 2 days after my Dvh on Nov 1 and havent since. Hopefully I wont have any issues. I wore a binder the first two days on and off cuz my stomach was quivering.. I guess the muscles were angry... I havent worn it since. I now am havin issue with hip and leg pain and tingling.. not pleasant what so ever. I hope it resolves. at times it is very painful. hugs to all!

Re: No bleeding............

I didn't have any bleeding after the surgery, for three weeks. Between the third and the forth I had a brown discharge (spotting) with no other simptoms. Now it's almost gone. I also kept my cervix.

Re: No bleeding............

I had a little spotting the day of surgery, but none at all since. I'm over seven months out.
The binder was helpful the day or two after surgery, but I didn't use it after that.

Re: No bleeding............

My bleeding started around day ten and lasted a good five weeks.
I hope you are one of those "lucky ladies" that this doesn't happen to.
