Cleared at 3 weeks???
Had my SSLPH (Single Site Laproscoptic Partial Hysterectomy) on 10/29. Had my first Post-Op visit with my Ob/Gyn yesterday. He is "pleased" with my progress, checked my belly button, which I think looks dreadful, but he assures me it looks "GREAT". He gave me an internal exam. The thought horrified me and I thought for sure it would be SUPER painful, it wasn't. He then told me I was "completely cleared" except No Lifting anything heavier then a 1/2 gallon on milk for 3 more weeks and No Vacuuming for 3 more weeks.
So here goes and if I am giving TMI please forgive me! I had bleeding for an entire month pre-op and the pain was pretty intense, the thought of sex made me cringe. My DH never complained. The Dr said I am "good to go", but EVERYTHING I read, EVERY POST, says 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks.
My partial included ONLY the removal of my Uterus. My cervix and ovaries are intact. I feel pretty good, but would REALLY LOVE to get into bed with my DH and do something else BESIDES sleep…
Looking for some thoughts from the wonderful women on this site.

Re: Cleared at 3 weeks???
Hi steph48,
You had a different procedure from most, but it is getting more common. The fact that you still have your cervix may be why your doctor gave you the go ahead. I was cleared at 4 weeks with no cervix, and I was just too scared. I waited for two and a half more weeks to try the first time.
Here's what I suggest to you. Don't do anything until you feel ready and comfortable. Just because you are cleared, it doesn't mean you have to do it. If you feel sore, or feel that it would hurt it any way, wait a bit. When you decide to do it, go very slow. If it hurts stop. You be in control, use lots of lubricant, even if you don't think you need it and have never used it, tell your DH that if you say stop, it means right this second. And as I said go very slow. I always tell ladies the first time back doesn't have to be earth-shattering or even good. For some it's a process. Practice makes perfect. And remember if you don't feel ready, there is no reason to rush it. Take your time and you decided when you're ready.
