MZ, I spent 5 days in the hospital laying in one of those beds and I so wished that I never lay in one again. As fate would have it 3 weeks later I spent another 5 days in the hospital bed with a heart attack. The recliner was even better the second time around. I found climbing in and out of bed on my fours was the easiest way to manuver my body around on the bed and get comfortable. The things were learn to get comfortable.

LOL, I hear ya. I spent 3 nights post op, and then a week later I had the infection and spent another 4 nights in the hospital. However, the hospital bed was easier to get in and out of than the recliner. I didn't have the energy the push the footrest down and so had a difficult time getting up. And the hospital bed I was able to push pillows behind my back to achieve a partial side sleep which I could not do in the recliner.

Isn't that so hard to do and all holding your tummy with a pillow and move the same time. I agree putting the foot rest down was hard to do and then wiggle your way off the recliner. I was able to get up on that hospital bed a crawl to the end and laydown. By the time I was done with my second stay at the hospital I had become a pro. The second time I couldn't move my leg for about 6 hours, I had to keep it still. NOT FUN.

I am also having trouble sleeping. I can't get comfortable. For me the couch with a bunch of pillows propt around me helps. I am also having trouble sleeping because I am getting hot flashes I am trying to take it easy on myself since I haven't been out of the hospital for a week yet. I just can't wait to feel normal again

If hot flashes keep you up keep a small fan by your bed so you can reach over and turn it on when you need it. My sister used to run her fan all night long.

Oh I run my fan 24/7 and I wear very lose clothes. You never would have caught me walking around my house in a long night shirt without a bra before but now I don't care. As long as I am comfortable. A hot shower will bring the hot flash intensity on and so will standing in front of the stove or oven. Just try to relax. My family dr put me on effexor to help me with the hot flashes. It doesn't stop them but it helps to lessen their intenesity. Best wishes.
