I'm not too active? 2 weeks post hysterectomy

Am I? I am almost two weeks post hysterectomy and I have been doing everything like normal now. Dishes, laundry, walking up and down our steep driveway and driving. I'm off pain killers and feeling almost 100% back to normal. I have almost no bleeding. Only slight spotting which is a light brownish color. I asked the doctor about orgasm, which he said is fine as long as there is no penetration. So I have been receiving oral sex as well. All in all I feel great. Should I slow down and relax or keep on going like I am and consider myself lucky?

Re: I'm not too active

Just listen to your body. If you are not lifting anything heavy or in a lot of pain then ya you are pretty lucky!

We are all different and some women do feel pretty good a few weeks post op. Generally, as long as you're following all the restrictions your doctor gave you, you should be ok. Vigorous exercise and heavy lifting are still not safe until your doctor clears you. Vaccuming, carrying full laundry baskets are likely too much at this point. If you have snow, no shovelling or sweeping snow off the mat. Some doctors also restrict us in regards to swimming, baths, and hot tubs as well. All my restrictions were lifted at 8 weeks.

Another thing worth noting is oral sex is still off limits until your doctor lifts the "no penetration" restriction. There is bacteria in our mouths that could possibly cause an infection. Your doctor has ok'd orgasm, so I would stick to manual stimulation for now.

If you kept your ovaries, the emotions should settle soon. I was crying constantly until I hit the 6 week mark. Sometimes our ovaries don't function very well immediately post op and these hormonal fluctuations can result in high emotions. Hang in there, it gets better!

I have been avoiding heavy lifting. I don't want to tear my stitches.

My ovaries are gone, so I'm hoping the hormone therapy I started yesterday will help. My doctor said oral sex is fine as long as we stick to the clitoris. I assn still not lifting anything over a gallon of milk or taking baths.

I had a similarly great recovery, I did any and all activities that were not restricted. Just stop if you are in pain.

I mean don't get me wrong, I needed my norcos the first week. But that was it. I feel very blessed to be feeling well.
