My Last Period Before Hysterectomy on 1/14

Im getting a hysterectomy five days and my period started last night, to be honest i'm a bit taken back. I'm Nervous about still being on it while I go under and its a bit weird for me to think that no matter how much my cramps hurt,that this is really the last one ill ever go though. Its just weird, I guess I had just assumed that this was my lot in life and would always be this way. So its a bit weird and strange to think that in a week ill never deal with this again.

In general, it should not matter if you are still having your period when you go into surgery. Be sure to wear a pad to the hospital and let them know that you are having your period. They will take the proper measures.

Im currently at the end of my last one EVER with 9 days until surgery. Isn't it such a surreal feeling? Like for years this has been normal life for us but it is soon to completely change! No more horrendous bleeding and (hopefully) no more pain.

I got my period the day before my surgery. It was really early, and I figured it was my uterus' last evil episode. I wore a pad into surgery, and honestly didn't even need one when they were done! I brought all these huge pads, anticipating post surgery bleeding like after having a c-section. I used 2 after my catheter was removed.

I was bleeding buckets on the operating table. I literally didn't take out my last tampon until just prior to the anesthesiologist putting me under, otherwise I'd have created an enormous bloody mess on the table. They kept reassuring me that it was fine. And it was....a few hours later, I woke up, never bleeding again. Aaaaaahhh.
