The o after hysterectomy

Thank you, Bel. For how much I DIDN'T think about sex prior to surgery, I'm pretty surprised at how much it's been on my mind after surgery!!! I suppose for me, I hadn't realized just how much my largest fibroid had been irritating me inside and I adjusted to the low-level constant pain. I feel so good already (I'm nearly 3 weeks post op), it's making me hopeful to have a better sex life. I've also seen just how much my husband has lovingly done through all this to take care of me and our family. On top of all that, my hormones seem to be different. Like I said, sex on my mind often, to the point where I can feel myself getting turned on, and really wishing I could do something more about it! Glad to know it turned out well for you, and I'm looking forward to hearing back from my doctor about what I'm allowed to do!

Re: The o after hysterectomy

I guess I am one of the unlucky ones... "O" post op is... lacking. It's either uncomfortable or entirely gone (along with the rest of my sex drive). Due to clotting risks, absolutely zero hormones for me per my hematologist (I have a history of PE) and my PCP and OBGYN. I was basically told "well... that stinks. Too bad..." My SO is really understanding but I'm super frustrated (lol not like THAT but in general). It really does not help my ongoing feeling of being "othered" now that I've had the surgery.
