Questions

Well I am scheduled for my TAH on may 22nd at 7:45am. I went to see my psychatrist on Friday and he diagnosed me as bi-polar after two years a fighting with them about my diagnois. He put me on Tegradol which can lower my blood count. My doctors office is closed until monday so I havent taken it yet. My question is was that the right choice to make? I was going to start taking it after my operation. My second question is I started my period on Saturday. Will that make me have to reschedule my hysterectomy? I was supposed to have it on the 2nd but had to have it pushed back because my doctor had a death in the family. I started taking my Provera 10mg twice a day just in case to lighten my period or make it stop all together.

But as for the period, my doc said that if I was bleeding it wouldnt be a problem. I dont see why it would create a problem.
Good luck and big to you!

Questions

My period started the day of surgery. It was no problem.

I wouldn't start any meds without contacting the dr.

Questions

I started my last painful period less than a week before my LAVH and my doctor was not concerned with it. Avoid taking aspirin or ibuprofen for cramps as they tend to cause you to bleed more during surgery. Stick to tylenol if needed. Also, eat more greens and red meat as to increase your iron levels. Hydrate well a few days before surgery also helps.
Surgery day comes very fast, don't wear yourself out trying to do too much. I am 6 days out and doing fine, except for the noted "Swelly Belly" and tiredness. Don't rush yourself and do buy the colace and gas-ex for afterwards! Call your DR. in am about Tegradol before starting. Good luck to you and keep in touch. This is a great website. Thanks to ALL!!!!!!! HIP....HIP....HURRAY.....No more periods, fibroids, endo and pain!!

Questions

I would not start them this close to surgery without talking to your surgeon. He/she may even want you to wait just a little post-operatively prior to taking them. Each person responds to medications a little uniquely and you do not want any porbelms between surgery or meds. I hope all goes well.

Questions

I talked to my GYN this morning she dosnt want me to start taking the Tegradol until a few weeks after my TAH. I did not know about the Motrin though. I take it for my chronic idopathic pelvic pain like she told me too lol. I havent taken it in a few days though. I dont take asprin at all. I will take tylenol if I need pain meds until tonight. I do have to take my effexor tonight before midnight because if I dont take that I go through with drawls. Less then 24 hours to go wooo hooo. No more pain no more cancer!
