MVP and hysterectomy?

Does anyone know if you have MVP before you get a hysterectomy will that make the MVP Mitral Valve Prolapse worse.
I am having surgery on August 30th for TAH and BSO and I have had problems with heart palpitations for years now. Not on medication but just stay away from caffiene and it keeps it at a minimal. Any expierence out there with there? I know it gets worse when I am close to my period. Maybe getting the hysterectomy will make the mvp better.

Thanks,
Lisa

MVP and hysterectomy?

I also have MVP and had several surgeries over the years, and two surgeries within one year also had my TAH/BSO. It didn't make any difference, my doctor that treats me for the MVP had to give medical clearance and I had my pre-op and the doctors checked me out before surgery and I was fine, my doctor also wrote an order for the anethesiologist to give me antiboitics before surgery(an hour before in an IV drip). You should speak with your doctor but I believe that when you have your preop you have to have medical clearance anyway from your doctor.

Also I didn't notice any difference in my symptoms, I didn't have any more palpitations during my recovery or after surgery, I don't think it had a bearing on my MVP one way or other.
