Tomorrow is the day

Hi Sisters!

I went for my pre-ops this morning. Now that I am at the starting gate I am feeling sort of excited about going! Weird, nervous wreck yesterday and today I almost feel like I'm going on some great adventure!

I'll have general anethesia with an epidural. The dr said he will put some type of morphine derivative in the epi (can't remember the name). He said it should keep me pain free for the first 24 hours. I like the sound of that!

No bowel prep! I was kind of surprised but not complaining. Dr said they will shave a small area and insert the cath after I'm out. I will also have an antibiotic in my IV to thwart any nasty germs hanging around.

So, all in all, I'm feeling pretty good and ready to go.

Oh, the dr also said that if I am not up to leaving the castle after two days I just have to tell the nurses I haven't passed gas yet!

Your doctor sounds terrific!! I'll be thinking about you and the other LIW's who go to the castle tomorrow and praying that your surgery goes well.

Don't forget to come back here to tell us your story after you're been home for a few days. Be sure to , lots of fluids and a little each day during recovery.

I REALLY like the idea of saying you have not passed gas yet in order to stay in the hospital longer lol!

I have 4 kids, so I wouldn't mind delaying going home to the noise and mess for a day longer
