question concerning LAVH's

I have a question.. albeit a goofy one.

When they do a Lavh, do you lose tone in the muscles there since the uterus is delivered vaginally?

Kinda concerned about this.. since I've had 4 kids all vag delivered, and things aren't as toned as they should be as it is.

question concerning LAVH's

Hi Kiarana!

I am this post, so that perhaps a LAVH princess can answer this one for you!

I can tell you, that although I did not have an LAVH, I have had other laproscopic abdominal surgeries and muscle tone was not an issue. I am not sure the size of the lap incision, but mine were about an inch long and the scars have shrunk down to about 1/8".

Anyone else here have an LAVH? Hope this helps some!

question concerning LAVH's

Hi There. I am only 10 days post-op LAVH so am not a good one to give any advice. I am also a bit confused. Did you mean muscle tone in the abdomen or in the vaginal area? As for the abdomen, This was my 3rd lap and no. I did not notice any probs beyond some swelly belly and once those probs were gone it was back to normal for me.

If you are talking about muscle tone in the vaginal area due to delvering the uterus vaginally then I am not sure. I also have 4 children born vaginally so was not as tones as I used to be. But I had other repairs done during my LAVH so that won't be the case anymore.(wink, wink)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Peggy

question concerning LAVH's

well in that case, all i can say is kegels, kegels, kegels Really has helped me post vaginal deliveries of babies...I think the uterus is pretty small and probably won't effect the vagina...but real good question for the doc!
