Hi Amamdiva9i
I know exactly what you are going through. I felt the same way and I cried for days. I would pray a lot and that is what carried me through., I am very thankful that I have wonderful family and Friends that served as a GREAT support system. Try not to cry too much. It is not as bad as it seems. I am home now from my hospital and believe it or not, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I am recovering great. I do have my moments where I break down and cry thinking that I am less than a woman but I am just thankful that i am still alive. Good luck and keep me posted on your surgery.

Re: TAH scheduled for Jan 18--I am nervous
So happy to hear you're doing well...my staples were just removed last week and what a relief, so that is probably what is bothering you with strange sensations. A couple of mine were really pinching. I hope you have some help at home for doing chores, laundry, etc these first few weeks, and plenty of colace ! I agree that the pain before surgery was pretty bad and at least you know that this pain will go away as you recover. Rest well, sister, each day gets easier, don't overdo it.

Well, just got back from getting staples out. That was a very weird sensation. No pain, just weird. She said the incision looks good, very clean and healing well, yay! She also took the glue stuff off my lap sites and said they look good, even my belly button!! That was a relief because my lap site there for my gallbladder removal was just nasty when it was a week old.

Re: TAH scheduled for Jan 18--I am nervous
Hi Rosetatto
Thanks for your wishes and the information. I was actually thinking that the strange sensations were in reaction to the staples. It does not seem as though they are pinching except for maybe the ones that are closer down to my pubic area. The staples are actually a little bit in the pubic hair and at an angle--sorry for the graphic picture. Thanks for letting me know it is not too bad to get them out, I have been really worried. I got one more week to go before I get them out...they seem to be looking good-no oozing, seeping etc.
My husband is helping me around the house with the dog and cooking etc. I was able to do my laundry and other things before i went in to surgery. He actually went back to work today so today is my first day home alone. It has not been too bad though...my mom stopped by with some apples, banannas, fiber bars, and juice along with other grocery items. I am trying to avoid taking colace or any other stool softener since before I had the hysterectomy I had a problem with loose stools...so I would rather do the more natural way.
Thank you for the wishes...

Re: TAH scheduled for Jan 18--I am nervous
Sounds like the way my staples were in at the pubic area. The skin there is thinner and apparently more subject to having the staples pull. They are surgical steel so you probably aren't having an adverse reaction, other than to the fact that they're there Getting them out was not a big deal but not a bad idea to take some ibuprofen before your appt just in case. Then, ahhh relief. Glad you are doing well.
