dVH/RALH Day 5, when can I sleep on my side?

Body pillows are great. I don't think it is recommended to sleep with the binder on. Check with your doctor's office. Regular pillows can be positioned for your comfort like the others said -- under your knees, against your back, etc.

I used a body pillow but really wasn't comfy on my back till week 2+

I had total DaVinci and Burch bladder surgery January 2. I am a side sleeper and couldn't wait to sleep on my side. I had a cathedar for the first week so I was sleeping upright with pillows propped up beside me and under my knees. It wasn't too bad but each day that went by I wanted more and more to sleep on my side. I would try it after the cathedar came out after week one but couldn't do it. It was around week two that I propped my head pillows up a little, put a pillow behind by back and a fluffy soft pillow in front of my stomach (laying in the side position) so it was like rolling onto the soft pillow and helped to support my insides. I finally got about an hour's sleep on my side. At week 3, I'm back to side sleeping but definitely keep a pillow between your knees. It helps!
