pain when internal stiches fell out?

I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and after feeling really good for over a week, I feel bad again. The dr said that this is the time for the internal sutures to fall out and that it may cause a flare up. Flare up is putting in midly. Anyone else get this?

pain when internal stiches fell out?

I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and have had a lot of pain this week. I've noticed that I'm losing my stitches - I was wondering if the pain was from the stitches?

pain when internal stiches fell out?

I am only a few days behind you in recovery and also had a 'flare up' that started on Saturday. My right side is almost as sore as the first week post-op! My dr. was not concerned and said it would get better as the healing continued. This to shall pass...I just hope it hurries!

pain when internal stiches fell out?

Hi,
I read your posts and feel like an idiot. No one told me about passing my internal stitches. I'm kind of freaked out. I am 4.5 week out from surgery and am now wondering what I should be expecting. I have serious swelly belly and lots of pain and burning around my incision. No fever, no drainage from incision but pain is definitely there. Can someone tell me what to expect from the internal stitch situation?

Oh yes, I remember it well! Inflammation is part of the natural tissue healing process as it pushes out the foreign body(the stitch) and then heals itself.I had a lot of burning, stinging and stabbing - then I would see a stitch or a knot. It can certainly be very sore.

Thank You

Thank you for your reply. At least I now know what to look for. I can't wait for the burning feeling to stop.

Well, Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for taking the time to answer me.

By the way, you said your surgery was in 2004. Do you feel like you again. I would love something to look forward to but need honesty more!

pain when internal stiches fell out?

Once again this website has proved to be a valuble resource. I had bad pain for three days and now it seems to be letting up. I am so ready to be done with all of this. And, just when I was feeling better there is a blizzard outside and I am trapped in my house. That couldn't happen when I didn't want go anywhere? Murphy's Law I suppose. Happy Holiday's everyone!

OMG! I never thought about internal stitches coming out. I assumed they would dissolve! This is why I love this site!
